It was my mother who fought for my education. It was my mother who told teachers I wasn't stupid which led them to realizing I was deaf. It was my mother who encouraged me to read and write. I Love the NY Giants because of my mother. It was my mother who took me with her everywhere she went. It was my mother who told me to believe in myself. It was my mother who wiped my cuts clean and kissed my booboos. Because of my mother I had a fantastic relationship with some of my dads family. My mother was the one who made sure I went to college. When I think about my mom I think about someone who never gave up. She held on and she had faith that things would always be better.
Today, as I think about all of the mothers that have had a lasting impact on my life, I think about Debra Elaine Wideman. My mom embodies love. I am so grateful to have in her my life and experience so many great times with her. Thank you mom for never giving up on me and for raising me to value all that life has put before me. I LOVE YOU!!
