So in the nineties, I worked at a store called Sam Goody. Some of you may or may not remember it. On this twenty-first day of NO complaints I feel good. Much of my mood can be contributed to the conversation I had with my best friend, whom I met at Sam Goody. When I worked there, I had some of the best days of my life. Working for damn near nothing didn't phase me. I was a college student trying to find my way and often the way I took was down a path by myself. It wasn't until I started working at the Islandia location that my life changed. The people that I worked with in that store remain my friends to this day. It's funny, because I've worked at many different places but the friendships I've made there are pretty much only regulated to social media. Today, I can't complain because during my conversation with my best friend of 16 years I realized how blessed I was to work there. To work in an environment where your co workers were your friends...I mean your REAL friends was amazing. I didn't fully grasp it back then. So as I sit and remember the Goody days I have to lean back and smile. I have no complaints and I'm so grateful for that time. The gifts I got out of it...including the free music...is irreplaceable. Thank you Marisa, Missy, Katie, Frank and Nick for remaining my friends. You may not be reading this but I hope that by putting it into the universe you feel it!!!! Day 21....I DID IT!!!! And I won't stop!!!!! |
